Saturday September 9th 1905 I worked very hard a part of the forenoon. I have to fix my summer dress, it is too short since washed. We went down home and on over to town. I got a few things and my hat was done. I like it very much. I am very tired. got the work done and went to bed early. Sunday September 10th 1905 I was busy about the house and doing work I did not feel able to to yesterday. In afternoon collected some of the things I need to take with me. I then read and wrote some. Looked like rain in morning but cleared of in afternoon. I did the evening work and went to bed early. Monday September 11th 1905 I had such a hard day. Billy helped me wash and then I got plums ready to can and the dinner. Did churning and ironed and put up the plums in afternoon. Will brought Mrs Whedon out at supper time. Got supper over and got my things ready to pack. I am very tired. Tuesday September 12th 1905 Got the breakfast past and my packing done and myself dressed in good time. Left Iowa City at 10:30. Had a pleasant trip and was not nearly as tired when I arrived in Delavan at eight oclock as when I left home. Jim & Edith were at the depot. We had some visit but went to bed rather early.
