Wednesday September 20th 1905 We took am early start went to Dick Moons office and from there to his home. After dinner we drove all afternoon visited a beautiful cave and other places of interest. After supper Fred Moon took us back to 2045 Benton St. Thursday September 21st 1905 We went over to Charlie Morris for dinner and had a nice visit. Charlie did not go back to the shops in the afternoon. They have two children. Aunty and I went home before it was late. Got supper over and visited till late bed time. It has been two days pleasantly spent. Friday September 22nd 1905 I started from Springfield about eight oclock and had a pleasant trip to Carthage. Alice met me at the depot and went directly to her house. The girls were all in to see me in the afternoon. I was very tired and we went to bed early. Saturday September 23rd 1905 Aunt Lydia and I went to Joplin on the nine oclock car. We found the friends there very comfortably situated and our stay was delightful. I went out to the mines with Jesse in the afternoon and after supper Mattie, Ralph, and I drove over the city. It is a wonderful place. The evening was spent in visiting. This is a wonderful place in some respects.
