Saturday December 16th 1905 I was busy all forenoon with the work and baking a cake that I took part of it down home in the afternoon. I did not feel very well. I think I have taken cold. I read in the evening. Hattie did not sit up today. Alma went home for a week. Sunday December 17th 1905 I felt miserable all day. I could not go down home. I sat around and read. Fannie went up to do for Hattie. There was a big crowd out shoting. I went to bed early. Did not sleep well last night. Monday December 18th 1905 I felt some better today. Will took a hog up to North Liberty this morning and he had help to get a stack of straw from Kyles field. I sewed a little and read in the evening. weather looks like snow. Tuesday December 19th 1905 I did sweeping and other work in forenoon. Will went to town to get coal to run the power to saw the wood this week. We had dinner real early and I went down home and Will to town. Mother was making mincemeat and Hattie was sitting up in bed knitting. The weather cleared of again pleasant. I wrote and read in the evening.
