Monday January 1st 1906 It was a moderate winter day. Billy was gone all day. Will and I read most of the time. Only had lunch at noon and dinner at four oclock. I still cough some. Tuesday January 2nd 1906 I washed out some handkerchiefs and a few pieces this morning. We had only lunch at noon and dinner at four oclock. I feel about the same. Hattie some better. Wednesday January 3rd 1906 I ironed and sewed a little. We had only the tow meals today. It snowed some.. I read part of the time. I am not coughing quite so much. Hattie improving. Thursday January 4th 1906 It was a cold day. I did not do much but got the meals and read some. Will about the place. I put in the most comfortable day for nearly three weeks. Friday January 5th 1906 Was busy most of the forenoon with the work. I am getting better slowly. Will went down on the car in the afternoon, took the butter and butter milk for the home folks. Mother is 80 years old today. I wanted to get her a present but will have to wait till I can go down. The young folks at the house got some things for her. weather better. Hattie improving.
