Monday March 6th 1906 Rueben Shales came to begin work today. Will went down town to help Lew Price load car for Dakota. I had help to do working in forenoon. I finished up the regular work in the afternoon. It is five years today since Lee was buried. Tuesday March 6th 1906 It was an ugly day snowing and thawing some. I ironed and baked bread. Billy Wentzel went down this morning to go with Lew Price to Dakota. Will went down to a meeting of township trustees in afternoon and bid Lew good-bye. I put in afternoon doing the mending. Read in evening. Wednesday March 7th 1906 Will sold the hogs this morning they sent a car out from the City. There was 45 of them and they brought $648.60 at $6.00 per [wt]. I had early dinner and we both went down on the 12.30. I did a few errands and was over the river awhile. Hattie still improving. Fannies girl is sick and had to go to her Aunts. Will today paid the last payment on the place and got the mortgage. It took nearly all the money he had so he borrowed a few hundred dollars that he can pay back at any time. I got our suppers early and read all the evening in a good book I got from the library. The weather some pleasanter and snow going of.
