Tuesday April 24th 1906 I hurried through with my morning work as Mother and Alma were coming out at ten oclock. I did a little mending and visited with them. I walked down to the 5 oclock car with them. Will finished cutting stalks today. I [It?] became very much warmer today. Wednesday April 25th 1906 Will began plowing for corn today. Mt Vaughn and Ely Hill are making fence. I was working out of doors some and did some mending. Bro Charlie would have been sixty years old today had he lived. Will went to town after supper for medicine for the colt. Thursday April 26th 1906 I was busy about the house most of the forenoon. I worked down in the front lot with Rueben all afternoon getting the trash pile ready to burn. I put out Dew-berry plants this morning that John Helmich sent me from Davenport. I was so tired went to bed early. Friday April 27th 1906 We burned the trash pile this morning, then washed four quilts. I had churning done early in the morning. Rueben helped me clean the cellar in afternoon. The little colt died. It was a pleasant day but toward evening a strong wind came up. I went to bed early. Will plowing all day.
