Thursday May 17th 1906 I began early to clean up our bed-room. Got the carpet up and the wood-work cleaned before time to get dinner. I had to mend the carpet some but got it down and every thing in place. a very warm day. Will helped me and planted the sweet corn. Friday May 18th 1906 I did some extra work about the house in the morning, started to clean the little room up stairs. Will and I went down to the funeral of Mrs [Heddlestones?] Mother at ten oclock. He went to town after dinner. I finished the little room & cleaned south room upstairs. We had a fine rain last night. Saturday May 19th 1906 I was busy all forenoon doing baking and looking after little chicks hatching. Will and I went down town in the buggy. I went to see Ida [Pring?] Burkett who brought the body of her Mother here for burial who died sometime ago. We did not stay long. Sunday May 20th 1906 Did not do much of anything in the morning. Will sheared Sauk. I helped a little with that. We took a ride in afternoon was down home awhile and at Woolfs. Jennie has gone to Dakota on a visit. I did evening work and went to bed early. fine day.
