Friday May 25th 1906 I finished sewing the dining room carpet and put it down before noon. I sewed the sitting room carpet and got it down a little after five oclock. I have turned them and they look nice. I did my evening work and went to bed early. Saturday May 26th 1906 I washed the wood-work in hall and put down that and stairs carpet before noon. Will in town awhile. I washed more curtains soon after dinner and cleaned the pantry and cellar way. The boys went to the pasture and brought home a sick cow. It rained just at night and turned very cold. I ironed curtains and took a bath & went to bed. Sunday May 27th 1906 I was busy all forenoon with the work. I had a lot of little chicks to look after and some baking to do. Will had Mr Vaughn help him skin the cow that died. I read and wrote in afternoon. It was very cold again. It did not rain. Monday May 28th 1906 Rueben churned and did part of the washing for me. I finished it after dinner and worked butter. The girls were out for Fannies butter. I got our first strawberries for supper tonight. The boys plowing corn.
