Tuesday July 17th 1906 I did ironing and was busy with the regular work most of the day. The girls at school and they hear from home that Lydia is some better.. Kyle began cutting oats this afternoon. Wednesday July 18th 1906 I put in the whole forenoon baking and cooking. I read and wrote some in afternoon. The men very busy with haying & [forrest?]. We girls went down to The Chautauqua grounds tonight to hear The Jubilee Singers. Thursday July 19th 1906 I did a lot of baking. Two cakes and more than a hundred biscuit for the party down home tomorrow. The girls took dinner down to John Stevens. I was down to Mrs Jim Pointains a little while in afternoon to a little party. They finished cutting the oats today. weather warm. Friday July 20th 1906 The girls went to school and came form there to the party. I drove "Nellie" down with my things I was to take. The most that were invited were there and we had a very nice time. Mother had good help hired. Will and I drove home and the girls came later on the car. Spent evening on porch. Too bad [Lydia?] and Vene were not here.
