Saturday July 12th, 1902 I got my work done early and went to town. I stopped for Laura to come home with me. We spent the afternoon talking and sewing. The boys worked late at the hay. The river is very high. It is all over the flat so we cant go to town in the buggy. A very warm day. Sunday July 13th, 1902 I was busy about the work most of the forenoon and visited with Laura. We all read and rested in the afternoon. After supper Laura and I walked down to the mill and the bridge at the creek. The water is higher than at any time since 1881. It rained nine in the evening. We visited till bed-time. Monday July 14th 1902 I sewed some this morning and got the dinner. The water went down so the boys could cross in a waggon in the afternoon to the hay field. Laura rode down so she could go to school.
