of Mr Sharpless being buried. Ralph Price who was killed on the R.R. and Dr Close who died in California were both buried this afternoon. I worked most of the forenoon in the garden and in the afternoon Ida and I went and picked strawberries. I set more hens in the evening. Saturday June 8th 1901 It was cold for the time of year. There was a regular celebration in town today to dedicate the new court house. We were down in the forenoon and came home to get our dinner and take care of things. Went back in the afternoon. We saw the balloon go up from the hill at home. Ida was gone all day and went to the fireworks in the evening Sunday June 9th 1901 We were busy most of the forenoon with the work. Ed McCallister and family were here for the day We had such a delightful visit. Weather cool. Monday June 10th 1901 There was a shower this morning and turned very hot. Will was nearly laid up with rheumatism We had no men at work and I did some mending took care of my chickens and rested for I fell sort of used up with the heat.
