Tuesday October 8th 1901 It was a cloudy ugly morning but Ida started to Cedar Rapids. I put up a can of tomatoes and did the work which was very hard as Mr Brewer was cutting out and casing the double door. Mr Fachler got the windows in the kitchen last night and cannot work any more. Mollie came home tonight. Wednesday October 9th 1901 I had a hard time doing the work today Mr Brewer was putting the window in the south of the dining room and with the noise, dust and flies it was hard enough. He got it wrong and delayed the work. We board him while at work. Will went to town in the afternoon for more lumber. Thursday October 10th 1901 Mr Brewer was till two oclock getting his window fixed. I baked bread and got dinner. I then went to town. I stopped at home a few moments and it came up a terrible rain. I got on home just before dark. Will was down with the waggon but got home before the rain as did Mollie. I selected more paper today Friday October 11th 1901 They fixed the cistern and Mr Brewer made doors for the new shed. I was busy with the house work all day. Floyd came for Mollie. it looked like rain
