Wednesday January 20th 1897 I did baking this morning and was busy about the house till dinner time. It was drizzling rain most of the day. Will went down town a little while in the afternoon bringing back a young man to work for him. We went down to [Andersons?] after supper they were not at home so we stopped at [Stockmans?] Thursday January 21st 1897 The day was unpleasant as it snowed part of the time. The boys put on a load of machinery for Will to take to the valley. I was busy with the wash a great part of the day. It was late when Will came for dinner. I read in the evening. Friday January 22nd 1897 Will went to valley with more of the machinery I was busy all morning with the work and sewed some in the afternoon I read aloud all evening. Saturday January 23rd 1897 I was busy about the work till early dinner time. I went down town with Will in the afternoon. I called at Robinsons to see how Mollie was after I did my trading We came home early it turned very cold tonight. Sunday January 24th 1897 It was a fearful day. We did not stir out of the house I got our meals and read what time I had. Monday January 25th 1897 It was very cold. Will went to the valley and cleaned out the ice house. I did the work fixed a dress for myself and read in the evening. The thermometer has been below zero all day
