Saturday February 20th 1897 It stormed terribly in the night and was raining some yet this morning. Though I was all ready to go I gave it up. Will took the butter up and went to the dinner. The company were not near all there. Fanny nor John either got home. John helped me and I worked all day putting things to rights. Read in the evening. Sunday February 21st 1897 I dident get much rest as I was finding some little thing needing picking up all day. Frank Stevens and George Jordan was here in the afternoon. The evening turned in very stormy. I read all the evening. Monday February 22nd 1897 Will helped me nearly all day. We got the carpet down in the front bed-room up stairs and the hall and stairs carpeted. Ed McCallister was here in the afternoon. Tuesday February 23rd 1897 It was very cold this morning but Will helped me do a big washing. I hung the little things on lines in the house and he put the rest out of doors. In the afternoon he went down to John Mc-- a little while and John and I worked at window curtains. I read in the evening. Wednesday February 24th 1897 I ironed part of the things this morning and in the afternoon washed out some lace curtains. Will worked at a couple of window shades in the afternoon. John is cutting wood he brought from the timber on Monday. I was very tired tonight and went to bed early. still cold
