Tuesday August 31st 1897 I did a small washing alone and got the dinner. In the afternoon I went down to see Callie as they got back today. Emma Weldie was up a little while in the morning. I churned after I came from Callies. After supper we sat on the porch. very warm. Wednesday September 1st 1897 I ironed and got dinner. In the afternoon I fixed a dress skirt for myself. There was a hard shower about five oclock. Will busy about the place. Thursday September 2nd 1897 We took an early start to the town and was over home for dinner. We had such a good visit. came home to do evening chores. Lee is very much better than on Saturday. Friday September 3rd 1897 I got my work done early and worked in the garden some. Will went to help thresh and Mother & Hatt were down to spend the day. They went home early. Saturday September 4th 1897 Will took the butter to town today. I worked out in the garden the most of the day. I got my strawberry bed all fixed up as I wanted it. We went down to Johns in the evening. weather warm again. Sunday September 5th 1897 We hurried through the work and got ready for church. we took the Stevens girls with us and stopped there for dinner. when we came back and spent the afternoon with them. It was a very warm day. came home to do evening work. sat on the porch all evening.
