Thursday February 3rd 1898 I was busy with the work most of the day. I churned and got things ready to go to town tomorrow. We spent the evening over to John Mc-- with a good many of the cousins. Friday February 4th 1898 We took an early start to town and after doing our errands went over home. But had dinner at Otts. John & Hattie went to Mr Hames funeral. I did not go. He died very suddenly on Tuesday. Mr Hostetler came down to tune the piano and stayed all night. Saturday February 5th 1898 It was late when we got through breakfast and Will went over to Hill Siding to get horses shod. Manuel helped me wash. Will and I went up to see how Ida was all called to inquire about Uncle George. he is not so well. Sunday February 6th 1898 We went to church this forenoon and I was busy with the work most of the afternoon. I read a little and wrote in the evening. weather more pleasant today. Monday February 7th 1898 The boys killed two hogs and in the afternoon went up to haul corn again. Mother & Lee came down and I got supper early before them went home. I wrote in evening.
