Wednesday October 12th 1898 Got the work done early. Will went to town and Charlie took us up to the Cousin party at Nelsons. Will got back there for his dinner. The folks were down from home. We had such a pleasant time. I heard from Mr Moorehead today and wrote to him again. Thursday October 13th 1898 Got the work done and Will took Mary and I up to Willie Anderson to visit with the Aunts & Uncles. I spent a very pleasant day. Mary did not come back with me. It was cold and I got in some tomatoes for fear they would freeze. I practiced in the evening. Friday October 14th 1898 Will and I hurried up the morning work and went to town. We took up the butter and a couple of dozen chickens. I was up in the office talking to Ott about the trade of my Dwight property. We concluded Will better go over the first of the week. We came past Hankes and got our apples for winter and brought home with us. Saturday October 15th 1898 Will took up more squashes this morning. I rode with him as far as the lane leading up to Elmer Anderson and walked the rest of the way. Edith was with the folks from home and seemed so much better today. We had a delightful visit. Will came for me on his way home. John Stevens came for a visit today. Will and I did the evening work, I practiced and he read all the evening. a pleasant day. Will did
