Wednesday May 27th 1896 I expected to go out to Mary Andersons to spend the day. But it rained hard most of the forenoon. I washed windows and cleaned the stairs. After dinner Will helped me wash and Seth cut weeds. At supper time it trained again very hard. Thursday May 28th 1896 I did up my morning work and Will went with me out to Mary Price to spend the day. The folks were out from home and we had a splendid time. After supper Will drove down town for the mail. Seth put out tomato plants I was busy till bed-time. Friday May 29th 1896 I washed curtains and got ironing done in the forenoon. I put up curtains and out things to rights about the house all afternoon. I had chickens hatching to look after. Will and I went down town after supper with a lot of marketing. Rob Whetstone is thirteen years old today. Saturday May 30th 1896 I baked and churned this forenoon and got the dinner in good time. I went down town in the afternoon, took Fanny some little chickens. The folks had all gone to the cemetery and I took flowers up too. Did my evening work. Went to bed early. Sunday May 31st {1896} Ott & Fanny, Mr & Mrs Free, John & Hatt were out to spend the day. The children came out after dinner. Will Hanke and family called just before supper time.
