Saturday June 6th 1896 Will and I both worked in the forenoon at the kitchen and got one coat of paint on the ceiling. We went down town in the afternoon and I had only been at Fannys a few moments when Will come for me as it looked like storm. We got as far as Lucas and went in there out of a hard shower, came home after it was over and did the evening work. A very warm day. Sunday June 7th 1896 It looked like rain and it did rain very hard about noon. I was busy about the work most of the forenoon. I read and wrote in the afternoon. We were not away from the house all day. I went to bed early. Monday June 8th 1896 I worked all day long. I got a good start in cleaning the kitchen. The boys moved the cupboards for me after supper and I put things away. Will went to the valley this morning and hoed the garden over. Seth churned for me and did some work about the place. The {boys?} went at plowing corn in the afternoon. Tuesday June 9th 1896 I was busy most of the forenoon getting dinner. I left things for the boys to get their own supper. I got down town before four oclock. I found Mother at the hall where they were preparing the banquet. I took her home and as Fanny was not able to go I went with Ott. It was delightful. I would not have missed it for any thing. We got home about ten oclock. Hattie and the children soon come with her things from the tables. Ott made a nice speech.
