44 A Receipt for ye Kings Evil [R Samnil Agrimony Avens] Wilde bugle red dandelion wood be [betony] ribwort wilde clary roots and leaves mugwort plantain wormwood and bugle beaten an two handfuls boil them in six quarts of white wine till their vertue be extracted then with your hand squeeze ye juyce out of them into ye wine then strain ye liquor out and set it on ye fire and clarife it with honey to make it pleasant then let it boil a little more and when cold put it in bottles close stopped give six spoonfuls at a time in ye morning fasting and at four in ye afternoon.
