64 A Receipt for Swounding Take of ye common round black pepper and bruise it a little and take half a sheet of white paper and fold it up together and between every fold strew some of ye same and burn ye one end thereoff in ye fire and hold it to ye nostrils it is very good. To void phlegm from the head lungs or stomach mixe pelitory roots and mustard together and hold it in ye mouth and it will draw out much phlegm from ye head but if you boil pelitory roots hysop and mustard in wine and vinegar and gargle ye throat with it it will cleanse ye lungs and stomach perfectly.
