140 A water for sore eyes take lapis tutia aloes hepatica fine hard sugar and [Ziii?] beat them very small and ut them into a glass of three pints to which put red rose-water and white wine of each one pint. Set ye glass in ye sun in ye moneth of July ye hole moneth. Shaking it twice a day for all ye while then use it as followeth put one drop in to ye eye in ye evening and one drop in ye morning an hour before youre patient [reseth?] ye older ye water ye better. Most approved July ye 15th 1754 Wheat was sowedin Amsbury.
