An approved medicine for ye plague and it is a most excellent preservative against all poysons or dangeroou diseases yt draw towards ye heart, take a new laid egg and break a hole so broad as you may take out ye white clean from ye yolk but be carefull you you break not ye shell. Then take one ounce of saffron and mingle it with ye yolk then cover it with another piece of shell so close as is possible then take an earthen pot with a close cover with warm embers so yt ye shell be not burnt and as those embers do cool so put in more hot and do so for ye space of two days until you think it si dry for proof where of you shall put in a pen and if it come out dry it is.
