43rd Sunday March 31st 1872 The ground was covered with snow this morning but the sun soon melted it away I suffered dreadfully with my throat today did not feel well enough to write any read some not very much Mr Huebner was over and spent the evening with me. Last Easter was such a pleasant day how well I remember it Pete and I went to the valley and ate dinner at Grandmothers and went to church in the evening Monday April 1st 1872 Mother and Hatt washed today I sewed some and read a little my throat is about the same Charlie went to the country again today Weather pleasant. Tuesday April 2nd 1872 My throat is no better I had the Dr this afternoon I dident pretend to do any thing but sit in the rocking chair and rest I have not heard from Pete yet I wrote him a few lines today directed to Chicago Charlie was not at home tonight he went to sit up with a man that was sick Weather pleasant
