58th Thursday May 9th 1872 It took Mother and I all forenoon to do up the work. This afternoon I finished fixing my red sacque and was heartily glad of it for I was sick and tired of having it under foot. Aunt and Uncle Walker and Mrs Hobert was here for supper Later in the evening Hattie Claringbould and Fanny Robinson were here. Hattie was fifteen years old today. Friday May 10th 1872 I think I never saw just such another rainy day it not only rained steady but it rained hard. They could not do much at the house We got the work done up early. Charlie went to town and Mr Huebner came home with him We all went over to the exhibition but Father and he was sensible to stay at home. It was dark and very muddy indeed. It reminded me of the night I went to Lizzie Robinsons wedding The exhibition was almost an entire failure I did not stay for refreshments after we came home we talked the matter over awhile before going to bed. Mr Huebner stayed all night with Charlie. Had a note from Mr H_ and a letter from Bertie today Mr Huebner gave me such a nice picture this evening
