102nd Saturday September 14th 1872 I helped do the Saturday work this forenoon After dinner I dressed and went down town with the folks and walked over to Mrs Reeds and spent the afternoon Ira came after me in the evening I had a good long letter from J.J.H. and a lot of collars and cuffs, and a splendid pair of black kid gloves. Went to bed pretty early. Sunday September 15th 1872 All hands went to church this morning Venie and I went with Ira. After church rode over to Mrs Reeds to return a shawl I borrowed of her. In the afternoon the folks all went riding and I wrote a letter to J.J.H. In the evening we attended church again, came home had lunch and after talking awhile went to bed. Monday September 16th 1872 This morning Ira & Uncle took the Iowa City folks in the buggy and started to Pekin I wrote a letter home and one to Mattie Corwine in the afternoon Ett and I went down town saw Tom and he got in the buggy with us and we took him down to the Hotel Had a letter from J.J.H. In the evening Tom and Dr were out here. Oh it was such a lonely night Dr and I took
