137th Sunday January 5th 1873 The folks started early to go down to Aunty Smiths, taking Esther and Will with them they had not gone far till they met them coming up here so they all came back And in a little while Jim McCollister came with his family They all stayed till after dinner In the evening Arth was here. I did intend to write to Aunt Melissa but did not get done. A cold day. Monday January 6th 1873 Hattie taught for me today and I went to the Universalist church to help make the new carpet. Went to the St James for dinner had a splendid time stopped to see Sade a few minutes did not get home till almost night. Tuesday January 7th 1873 Father took me out to school this morning in the waggon, came back in the evening with the boys on a load of straw, in the eve sewed some. Wednesday January 8th 1873 It stormed so I could not go to school today it was rather late when we got up I sewed all day for myself A letter from Bertie & Lillie
