172nd Saturday May 17th 1873. I was at work painting all day Charlie brought Minervia over with him to stay all night I was so tired when night came I did not know what to do with myself. Sunday May 18th 1873 It was not a very pleasant day it was so cold. I staid at home all day. Had a letter from Bertie answered it and wrote a letter to Mr Huebner Minervia went home tonight. Monday May 19th 1873 It rained today so we could not go to town. Mother white washed the kitchen and I cleaned the cup-boards. Tuesday May 20th 1873 Mother and I went to town early this morning got paper for the kicthen a new carpet for the sitting room and I got me a new buff dress. When we got home found Father here he had just got back from Chicago. In the afternoon I put the paper on Charlies bed room some on the kitchen. Had a letter from Mr Huebner. answered it tonight
