182nd Wednesday July 2nd 1873 It was a cool cloudy day. We stayed at home all day. I wrote a letter home and one to Mr Huebner. In the evening We went up to the Centre to attend a singing. Thursday July 3rd 1873 Lou was busy about home all day I read and visited. Friday July 4th 1873 Mr and Mrs Higgins went to the grove early this morning. Lou got dinner for us young folks here at home. Her brother came from Davenport this morning After dinner Mr Van Camp took us to the picnic. and in the evening We drove down town and attended a party. Had a very pleasant time. Saturday July 5th 1873 Lou was busy all the forenoon and in the afternoon went to town I read and visited with her brother. Sunday July 6th 1873. Early in the morning Lou and I got ready and went to the S.S. Convention with Mr Van Camp. Then home with him to dinner. where we had a very
