216th Thursday December 4th 1873 I helped do the work in the forenoon it was a cold stormy morning. In the afternoon Hatt and I put out the clothes. After supper we attended a troupe meeting at the school house. When we came home we cracked nuts, popped corn and had a good time generally. Friday December 5th 1873. I sewed a little today and helped do the house-work. Weather pleasanter than yesterday. Saturday December 6th 1873. Hattie ironed all the forenoon and I in the afternoon, helped clean up the house and do the baking Mother went to town in the afternoon. I do not feel at all well my throat is so sore. Sunday December 7th 1873 I had not finished the work in the morning when Grand-ma & Grand-pa and Jim and Mary McCollister came. We had turkey for dinner. They went home soon after dinner. I had a letter from Pete today. Wrote him a short letter in the evening. Weather pleasanter than it has been for some days past.
