106 Lip Salve Mrs l 4 oz of Beef marrow 3 oz of Virgin wax 1/2 oz of alcanet root 1/2 oz Storax 1/2 oz Gum Benzoin 2 table spoonfuls of Sallad oil 1/2 oz of Loaf Sugar (one sliced pippin 6 spoonfuls of Port wine 4 of Sherry let it boil till it is a good colour put in your Pots & let it stand till Cold (Scrape it from the Liquid) Cough pills [Catr] Dried aguills Gum ammoniac & gum Myrrh a scruple sack prepared Thali 15 grains Castile soap one Drachm to be made into 50 pills 3 or 4 to be taken nights & morg & in the middle of the day if required Dr Baillic Eau de Cologne Essense of Bergamot 3 p Do Lemon 20 Drops Do neroli 4 Drops Oil of Rosemary 6 Do Do Lavender 20 Do Rectified Spirits of Wine 4 fluid ounces N B the longer the above is kept the better it is. Mr Metcalf Tooth Powder Gum Myrrh, best Dragons Blood, Prepared red Carat Gum Mastic, Best Bol: almoniac 12 oz of each finely powdered together Mr Hoare For a Cough Boil a handful of dried Wild Thyme in a quart of Water till it is reduced to a pint strain it when cold & add a pound of Brown Sugar Candy & 1/2 a pint of Lemon Juice boil it till it is a thick Syrup Take a Table spoonful about twice or three times a day. a few drops of Lanfnaum or a teaspoonful of Syrup of Squills may be added Dr Foster
