A Paraphrase on the CXIX Psalm I 1 Bles't ev'n beyond expression bless't are they, Who blamlesse walk thro' lifes vexatious way, Who never from fair vertues laws depart, All undefil'd and pure in life and heart. 2 Who from Gods statutes never turn aside, But make his will their rule, his word their guide, Who of their false and treacherous heart's afraid, With undisembling prayers, implore his aid. 3 In vices crooked paths who never stray, Constant and firm in virtues Sacred way. 4 How dear a task thy precepts to fulfill, With pious diligence to obey thy will. 5 O may thy spirit my wand'ring steps restore, That I from good, may never wander more. 6 So I'le with humble hopes appeal to thee, And serve thee with impartiall Piety. 7 Happy experience truly can declare, How good thy ways, how Just & Right they are, When those I've learnt, thy glorious name I'le raise, And bring my best, my gratefull humble praise. 8. Thy Statutes shall my Care & businesse be And as I think on them, O ever think on me
