5 33. Instruct me Lord, in virtues shining ways, Nor will I wander from them all my days, Illuminate my soul, & I'le fulfull, With my best care, & love thy heavenly will, Direct me in the paths of just & right, My inclination they, and my delight, Thither alone let my glad heart aspire, Nor this vain worlds deceitfull goods admire, Let Caring honour me as little move, But raise my nobler thoughts to things above, Thy truth & goodness let thy Servant see, Who nothing fears like his offending thee, Shield from that fowl disgrace, I apprehend, Since on thy equall Justice I depend, To thee O God, who knowst me I appeal, For whose just laws thou knowst my fervent zeal, Tho' my fierce foes new mischief still contrive, Save Lord! as thou hast said, save, succour & receive. 6 41 Thy mercy grant for thou art true & just, In thy unfailing word's my stedfast trust, So shall the bold Blasphemer silenc'd be, Who dares at once deride my hopes & thee, Abandon not my troubled soul O Lord, Whose firm dependance on thy Sacred word, So I'le thy law embrace still hold it fast, Nor the dear treasure leave while life doth last, So when a greater freedom I enjoy, My life in thy bless'd service I'le employ,
