(2) John 420 This Commandment have we from him that he who loveth God love his Brother also & yet it is [illegible] visible that many who make A Great Profession of Piety towards god are very [defertive?] in Moral duties very unpeaceable & turbulent in their spirits very peevish & passionate very Conceited & censorious as if their Profession of godliness did exempt them from ye Care & Practice of Christian Vertue it is very possible that men may be devout & zealous in Religion very nice, & scrupulous about ye worshipe & service of god & yet because of their palpable defect in points of Justice & Honesty of meekness & humility of peace & Charity may be gross & odious Hypocrites
