March, THURSDAY, 5, 1863. I got a letter from Jane written last sept. & one from Mother written same time. Wrote to Mother. detailed for guard yesterday. I heard from Capt Warner that David was discharged Feby 16.. FRIDAY, 6. I made a ring from a Clam shell. went to Town and took a book from Library, Kings plot, by James. Had dress parade the first tim in Davenport SATURDAY, 7. I paid for fixing my new pen to 30 cts. Read mostly to day at Kings plot., I made a ring for Jane out of white Clam shell Snow storm to night
