March, WEDNESDAY, 11, 1863. I & Joseph Baker visited Rock Island City and got some clam shells from the Island to make rings. went to prayer meeting last night & Class meeting to night THURSDAY, 12. I got a letter from Jane to day, got one from David, I answered it sending a ring Joseph Baker also sent a ring to David. I am on Gaurd to day FRIDAY, 13. I was on patrol last night and we visited four Houses of bad repute and found about 40 soldiers in them, which we started for Camp. I wrot to Jane to day send a purpl] ring of clam shell my [second?]
