April, THURSDAY, 16, 1863. 70 men of our Regt. were [stated?] to fill sand Bags for Batteries, on Youngs Point open to Vicksburgh, 4 Transports & 4 Gun Boats Run the Blockade of Vicksburgh one Transport burned. time midnight. teriffic Cannonade FRIDAY, 17. Continual Cannonading in and around Vicksburgh Bake ovens was built by our Company and Frank Moine is Baking some good bread some rain to day SATURDAY, 18. I wrote a letter to Jane to day. Heavy Cannonade on the Red River Country. the 35 Iowa Regt. arived Here to day they are in our Brigad,. the 8th 12" & 35 Iowa in one Brigade.
