May, TUESDAY, 19, 1863. Rear of Vicksburgh Our Brigade made a Reconisance around to the Missipp aboave the City & Returned to the Battle field with nine prisoners. T. N. Smith of our Company got Killed when Carrying Cartridges to the front. WEDNESDAY, 20. I Received 1 letter from George Henderson & one from David. The Battle still rages But the Rebels still Hold the outer entrenchments. our Brigade is Held in Reserve THURSDAY, 21. I wrote a Letter to Jane to day & one to David the Batteries are at work the Infantry on Both sides are quiet. our suplies have Reached us from Hains Bluff.
