June, THURSDAY, 18, 1863. I wrote a letter to George Durno & one to David. Corporal David Connor was Reduced to the ranks by order of Col Edginton for being absent without Leave. FRIDAY, 19. I Recd. pay for two months from the 1" of Marvh to 1 of May 1863 $ 40,00 paid by Major Clark I mailed a letter to Jane with ten Dollars inclosed Very Hot & sultry SATURDAY, 20. fell into line of Battle by Brigades while our Batteries shelled the City from 6 A M. to 11 A. M. Sent $ 20,00 by express to [Mr Green?] Bank of Iowa for G. L. Henderson
