July, FRIDAY, 24, 1863. Marched at daylight again and stoped for the night at Champion Hills or Bakers Creek. Making 10 miles per day. The Heat is intense got 10 letters yesterday from Jane, G.L.D. D.B.H. G.L.H. Mother A. Kerr, Bella Henderson & John Durno SATURDAY, 25. Marched from Champion Hills to our Camp 5 miles West of Black River. 3/4 of the Division gave out from fatigue and Heat before we stoped after a march of 15 miles SUNDAY, 26. mailed a letter to Jane Stoped in Temporary Camp Resting all day. We got very wet to night as we were not prepared for a storm. Lieut Cook very sick in Camp with us
