Camp on Bear Creek July, THURSDAY, 30, 1863. I wrote a letter to Jane Reading Waverly and taking it Cool waiting orders to move to a permanent Camp. James Barr very sick. Bot Berries 20 Cents. FRIDAY, 31. Recd. a letter from Jane one from John Moir Jnr & one from David and a Boston Investigator from G. L. Henderson. Sergt. Hutchins & Corporal Curtis Recd. furloughs for 30 days (Vertically over entry:-) Recd 12 Postage Stamps from Mrs C. J. Henderson August, SATURDAY, 1. I wrote letters to G. L. Durno and John Moir Jnr. Got our Tent put up and Bunks built under the shade of a large oak Tree. Reading papers, and filling up Morning Report Book to date
