Camp on Bear Creek Miss. August, SUNDAY, 2, 1863. Lieut Col Edginton Resigned Capt Earl & Stibbs are the Candidates for vacancy. Had Company inspection this forenoon. Wrote one letter to Geo. Kerr & one to Aleck Henderson Heat increasing. MONDAY, 3. Hutchins & Curtis Left on furlough for 30 days Recd. pay for two months May & June 1863 $40,00. finished Reading Waverly. Drew Clothing 1 Pr socks two pair Drawers I sold to D W Reed $1,90 TUESDAY, 4. Arranged our Permanent Camp moved our Tent & Bunks Co C has the best place on the left flank Recd. 3 Letters one from Jane one from James Henderson & one from Mother
