Camp near Black River see 26th August for this date August, THURSDAY, 20, 1863. three men of the 35 Iowa Regt. were buried on the 25th. Sickness is prevaling to great extent at present. Reading & drill &c as usual ,,Much Cooler Weather,, FRIDAY, 21. I wrote a letter to David Had a drill this afternoon by Major Stibbs in the Manual of Arms. our Cook Larking Returned to day for duty. ,,Cooler after the rain,, SATURDAY, 22.
