Camp on Bear Creek August, SUNDAY, 23, 1863. I am Reading the Poetical works of Mary Howitt, Elisa Cook, and Miss Landon to day. suffering Considerable with Catrrah in the Head for some days ,,Very Hot to day,, MONDAY, 24. I wrote a letter to John Durno To day. Reading late papers Drilled Company one Hour Had a good Bath in Bear Creek. Co. C goes on Picket to night TUESDAY, 25. on Picket to day Had charge of Company Divided into 3 posts on Bear Creek. Musquitoes are in Myriads out from the Camp fires & smoke. Very Cool to day
