Chewalla Tennessee December, SUNDAY, 27, 1863. had a good wash last night. Making out Master Rolls for Co "C". Co C got back from Bridge. they signed the Enlistment papers MONDAY, 28. the Rebel Forest on the Rampage again. The Road & wires cut. we slept on our arms to night. Making out muster & pay Rolls. finished them to day Pleasant weather TUESDAY, 29. Co C & I went out last night on a scout & Captured 16 prisoners. Killed one man & wounded two all Gurrillas. wrote a letter to Jane. I am Reading Oliver Twist.
