8 Chewalla Tennessee January 8 1864 Friday I aswered the letter I Received from Mr & Mrs Durno. the Men are amusing themselves by dancing in the Hall. such dances where there is no Ladies present is called a Stag dance The contrabands are quite an attraction at such dances, as they are nearly all good dancers at jigs Hornpipes etc etc. I Read considerable today
