54 Black River Miss Feby 23d 1864 Tuesday The Citizens within the circut of 50 miles are flocking to this place with Cotton for sale, and buy flour, groceries, [illegible] etc, and they have at last learned to be very pleasant & polite to the Yankees & the Ladies smile on them now in the place of their former sour looks
