113 Home Iowa April 22d 1864 Friday I left Home today for the army again Jane accompanied me with the children and Mrs. Durno as far as Fry's where we overtook the Company on their way to McGregors. the partings are very Hard. I sincerely wish this war were over so that we could enjoy the quiet & Happines of Domestic life again.
