139 Gen Hospl. Davenport Iowa May 18th 1864 Wensday I stoped with David today We got a Horse & buggy & drove to Camp McLellan and Camp Roberts, also visited the Indians in thier pen where He bought some trinkets made of Clam shells. Rode through the City of Davenport which for a Millitary post is a very dull place the 2d Cavalry left today for the front. Very pleasant
