151 Memphis Tennessee May 30th 1864 Monday 4 men & one sergeant of 12th Iowa Detachment at mouth White River Came up with a Counterfetier of Green Backs as prisoner He made His escape by jumping in the River at midnight on sunday last when 30 miles from this place, suposed to be Killed as the gaurds shot 11 times A. K. Ketchin of "C" was one gaurd. I had ague today again
